What Is APEL—and Why It Matters
The Authorized Protective Eyewear List (APEL) is maintained by PEO Soldier and identifies eyewear systems approved for military use by U.S. Armed Forces. To qualify, products must meet or exceed:
- MIL-PRF-32432A ballistic impact resistance
- ANSI Z87.1-2020 industrial safety standards
- Rigorous, independent lab testing at government-certified facilities
In short: APEL isn’t just a certification. It’s your assurance that what you’re wearing is trusted by professionals at the tip of the spear.
